It is a joy to experience the body of Christ partnering together to do God’s work in our community. Churches and individuals are praying, giving and co-laboring with us to come alongside people to give them hope and healing as God transforms their lives. We are so grateful for your support given in so many wonderful ways.
Story of impact your support is having
One of our moms recently shared that she used to live in a place where she was controlled, believing the lie that she couldn’t make it on her own. After being helped out of that situation, she came to The Journey Home. Today, she speaks of living in a safe place and learning vital life skills, including how to care for her infant son. TJH, she shared, has given her confidence and independence and a chance to grow and become her own person. The biggest change she says, “happened in my heart. I’ve learned that the things I was told about myself before weren’t the truth – God’s love is the truth. The faith and support given to me at TJH have helped me be hopeful about my future.”
Our Community Partnerships are making a Difference
Zion United Methodist Church hosted a Banquet on Saturday, May 9, to benefit TJH. It was a special night of fellowship, fundraising and sharing what God is doing at TJH.
Please keep TJH in mind as you spring clean. Louisa Baptist Church is again graciously having a Yard Sale on Saturday, June 6, to benefit TJH. Please consider donating items that you are cleaning out as well as planning to shop that day for some real bargains.
Memorial Baptist Church and Louisa Presbyterian Church donated much needed and much appreciated paper products for the use of our guests at the home.
The Women’s Alliance of Louisa Baptist Church helped with a move-out cleaning. This is a great way to work together to bless TJH.
Volunteers are needed and appreciated. An immediate need is for childcare during classes on budgeting, life coaching, parenting and Bible study. Transportation for guests to appointments is also a great way to help TJH in its ministry to our families. Cleaning and preparing units for new families to move into is another opportunity to serve.

TJH Annual Banquet is Saturday, August 29. Please save the date, plan to attend and invite friends to hear the amazing things God is doing to transform lives. Dinner will be provided by Out of the Box Catering. Tickets will go on sale on our website June 1.
