In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ Acts 20:35

The volunteers, staff and board members agree that it is more blessed to give to our guests. We all feel that we truly receive so much from them as they become “family” to us. They have great needs and it is a joy to come alongside of them and help them in their journey. There have been three new families coming to live at TJH in the past two months. Watching them benefit from the counseling, life coaching, budgeting, and parenting classes as well as the time in God’s Word has been a privilege. They face many challenges but are indeed moving forward as they rebuild their lives. Our newest family, “C”, a single dad with 3 children, said that “TJH has been a life saver for me and my kids.”

God continues to pour out His blessings on The Journey Home. On June 3, Louisa Baptist Church held a yard sale and made $3,000 to benefit TJH. Thank you to those who supported the event and to Allen and his crew for all their time and effort. Pastor Richard (from LBC) even made and sold pork bar-b-q during the event because he wanted to bless TJH. We are so grateful for this church and many others that support this ministry in so many ways.

Yesterday, Sam brought four beautiful benches that he made for the playground and porches at TJH. This was the Eagle Scout project that he did along with planting grass to help with an erosion problem we were having. We are so grateful for the blessing his efforts are to our guests.

You are a Godsend to TJH as you support us with your prayers, your finances and volunteer your time. There is an upcoming opportunity we would love to have you involved in. Please plan to join us on Saturday, August 26, for our Annual Fundraiser Banquet. You will bless us by attending and we believe you will be blessed to hear what God is doing in and through TJH. Two of our guests will be sharing about their experience at TJH. Click here for details and to purchase your tickets. Please note that you can also contact us directly to purchase your tickets with a check. Tickets are $30 per person. Please consider getting a table for six at $150 and inviting friends. Or, think about paying for a guest of TJH to attend the banquet.

Thank you for the many ways you bless us. May you receive abundant blessings back from our Lord Who gives so lavishly.
