In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw all that He had made and it was very good. Genesis 1:1 and 1:31
A new year brings new beginnings for many of us. (Maybe a new diet and exercise plan after too many yummy holiday foods?!) New beginnings cause me to reflect on Genesis and God’s creation of our world. In Tim Keller’s words, “The Bible depicts a world that is brimming with dynamic, abundant forms of life that are perfectly interwoven, interdependent and mutually enhancing and enriching. The Hebrew word for this is shalom. We translate it as “peace”, but the Hebrew word means much more than that. It means absolute wholeness – full, harmonious, joyful, flourishing life.”
God sustains the earth He has created. He sustains each one of us in unique and intimate ways. We desire to help our program participants find strength, provision and hope in the sustaining grace of God. Shalom is what we desire for our lives and for the lives of the families at The Journey Home.

Celebrating Your Generosity

Transportation: Helping guests get to essential appointments.
Childcare: Watching little ones while parents attend life-skills classes.
Unit Preparation: Cleaning and preparing units for new families to move in.
